More surgery for Madison

So while the permanent shunt surgery went well, it didn’t reduce the size of the ventricles in her brain.  They are still enlarged, and actually look larger on a head ultrasound they did this morning.  They are going to reopen the surgery, confirm the shunt is functioning, and replace it if necessary.  If the shunt is working, then there could be a blockage in the duct between her ventricles that is preventing them from all draining through the shunt.  There is a prcedure they can do in some cases where they can punch a hole between two ventricles if the duct is blocked.  They can also consider placing a second shunt.  More to come.
